NIOS – National Institute of Open Schooling was established in November 1989 with the primary objective of providing a world-class standard in education. The senior secondary course is equivalent to Class 12. As per the NIOS, admission to senior secondary courses will be open only to students who have passed the Secondary School Examination or an equivalent examination conducted by any other recognised Board of Secondary Education.
NIOS frames its curriculum, self-learning study materials and other supportive programmes by employing various educational and vocational education institutions.
